PMS at 15th FINA World Masters Championships

The 15th FINA World Masters Championships were held in Montreal from July 27th until August 10th. Pickering Master Splashers sent 8 swimmers to compete against almost 6000 athletes from around the world. Nikki Minchin, Ursula Wolfel, Gerhard Wolfel, Greg Bordash, Paul Gemmink, Iain Johnston, Glen Hanna, and Andy Manahan represented PMS at the meet. The team was involved in about 20 individual races. Andy Manahan captured 15th place in the 100m Butterfly, while Iain Johnston, Ursula Wolfel, and Glen Hanna had some top 30 results. Greg Bordash was competing in only the third meet of his life.The men’s 4X50m freestyle relay team placed 38th with a time of 1:59.51. The medley relay was so fast, no time could be recorded.The team did not let swimming get in their way of enjoying the sites, foods, and shopping in Montreal.
